Purpose
The safety of all residents at Ashray Living is of utmost importance. All occupants are requested to follow the below fire and lift safety instructions at all times in accordance with general safety advisories issued by the Delhi Fire Service and applicable Delhi safety norms.
Fire Safety Guidelines
- —Do not overload electrical sockets, extension boards, or adapters.
- —Use only safe and approved electrical appliances.
- —Switch off lights, ACs, heaters, kettles, irons, and chargers when not in use.
- —Smoking, open flames, candles, crackers, or any combustible activity inside rooms/common areas is strictly prohibited.
- —Do not tamper with smoke detectors, fire alarms, extinguishers, or emergency systems.
- —Corridors, staircases, exits, and emergency passages must always remain clear.
- —Residents must immediately report any burning smell, sparks, smoke, gas leakage, or faulty wiring to management.
In Case of Fire
- —Raise the alarm immediately.
- —Call Fire Emergency: 101
- —Use stairs and move calmly to the designated safe assembly area.
- —Do not panic, run, or crowd exits.
Lift Safety Guidelines
- —Do not use the lift during fire, smoke, earthquake, or emergency evacuation situations.
- —Always use staircases during emergencies.
- —Children should use lifts only under adult supervision.
- —Do not overload the lift beyond its permitted capacity.
- —Avoid jumping, forcefully pressing buttons, blocking doors, or misusing emergency alarms.
If the Lift Stops Unexpectedly
- —Remain calm.
- —Use the emergency alarm/intercom.
- —Do not attempt to force open lift doors.
- —Wait for trained assistance from management or maintenance staff.
Lift Malfunction Reporting
- —Any lift malfunction must be reported immediately to management.
Emergency Preparedness
- —Residents should familiarize themselves with: emergency exits, staircase access, fire extinguisher locations, and assembly points.
- —Periodic safety checks and mock drills may be conducted by management.
- —Non-compliance with safety instructions may result in disciplinary action for resident safety.

All residents are expected to cooperate fully during safety drills and emergency situations to ensure collective safety and well-being.
